After 14 months of construction work, Germany-based manufacturer Voss Automotive officially opened this week its new US$ 10 million plant at the Server Industrial Park in Arteaga, Coahuila.

The company started operations in 2011 at a leased facility before it moved operations to its own 148,000-square-foot site. This plant manufactures rubber pipes, connectors, valves, air suspension components and assemblies for emission, fluids and refrigeration systems for commercial and passenger vehicles.

Eduardo Vultorius, VOSS CEO for the NAFTA region, said the company has invested US$ 79 million since its arrival to Mexico.

The official also revealed plans to add new business units that will require an increase of workforce from the current 420 strong to some 700 employees in the near term.

Since its conception, Voss Automotive Mexico has been honored by heavy truck manufacturer Navistar International Corp., as a recipient of its Diamond Supplier Award for three consecutive years, based on exceptional performance. This award ranks VOSS among the top 2% of Navistar’s global supply chain.

The Mexican operation has also received the Masters of Quality Award of Daimler Truck North America (DTNA), the highest recognition Daimler gives to its suppliers.

This prize was also granted after the company earned for three years in a row the award for excellence in supplying electrically heated SCR lines, coolant lines and assemblies, customized for Daimler’s vehicles.
