Telefonica Mexico announced that it has received the Tier III Gold Level certification for operational sustainability from Uptime Institute for its Ixtlahuaca data center in the State of Mexico.

The operator said it’s the first company in Mexico to be awarded the certification, which requires passing at least 90% of the tests conducted, although the Ixtlahuaca data center achieved a rating of 94.43%.

Telefonica last year said it has invested over US$ 52 million in the facility, which offers data transfer speeds of around 40 Gbps as well as cloud, hosting, backup and disaster recovery services for its enterprise customers.
