Currently, Siemens is present in 60% of the automotive assembly plants installed in Mexico, thus contributing to place the country as the fourth exporter of vehicles worldwide, which makes it a strategic partner of this sector that represents 15% of the Product Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and attracts 17% of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

The German conglomerate supports this industry through automation, digitalization and the Internet of Things (IoT), which allows automakers to improve their productivity and reduce costs in favor of satisfying domestic demand and exports, said the company in a statement.

The vice president of Digital Factory, Process Industries and Drives of Siemens Mexico and Central America, Ivan Pelayo, said that the company now focuses on supporting automakers in the face of challenges such as reducing time to reach the market, increasing the number of models manufactured, as well as how to improve productivity and quality of production.

"Siemens is prepared to accompany the pace of growth that the country will face with new investments, as well as to support the maintenance and updating of the installed base of its customers," he said.
