Heavy truck production in Mexico up 20% in February; exports hike 43%

Manufacturers of commercial vehicles produced 12,125 units in Mexico during the second month of the year, that figure represents an increase of 20.8% when compared to the 10,038 units manufactured in February 2017, according to data from the National Association of Bus, Trucks and Tractor Trucks Producers, (Anpact).

Total production in the first two months of 2018 saw an increase of 15% with 8,120 trucks and 12,693 truck tractors, Anpact said.

As for exports, these totaled 10,798 units in February, a 42.8% hike compared to 7,500 units in the same month of 2017. Total exports in the first half of the year saw an increase of 29.5% totaling 18,887 units.
