April was a bad month for Mexico-made vehicles in the U.S. market not only because demand of sedans is weaker by the day, but also because some vehicles are about to phase out to open room for revamped 2019 model years, which kind of push consumers away from the current inventory in order to wait for the new versions, such is the case for the Volkswagen Jetta and the RAM pickup.
On the bright side, demand of SUVs keeps growing hence giving a boost to certain models even when they are on the final stages of their production cycle, such is the case for the Dodge Journey.
Also worth noting, is that April marked the first full month of sales for the all-new 2019 Infiniti QX50, which is the second SUV from a premium automaker built in a Mexican facility.
The following report does not necessary reflects that each vehicle sold from certain model was built in Mexico. Automakers constantly mix domestic and overseas supplies from several countries to meet U.S. demand.
