The first units of the next-gen KIA Forte have already started to roll out of the production line at the assembly plant in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon, Northern Mexico, revealed Mexican media correspondents who carried out driving tests with the new models.

According to the first reviews, the new design lines confirm the Forte as a close relative of the Stinger, kind of a coupe style car with the interior space of a sedan.

The suspension was adjusted to minimize the transfer of weights, helped by a rigid structure that avoids the torsion of the car and dignifies the sporty look of the Forte. The company claims that the current one is a chassis 16% more rigid than the previous one.

The first Fortes are powered by a 2.0-liter 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque engine paired to an automatic transmission, with paddle shifters now called IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission).
