The head of the Union of workers of the Ford Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly Plant in Sonora, Ricardo Martinez Herrera, announced that last week the facility began the production of the 2019 models of the Fusion sedan and the Lincoln MKZ.
In a conference before local media, the leader said that the plant is expected to continue operating on two shifts for the rest of the year, with 2,500 workers and a daily production of 1,150 cars.
In a separate event, Jorge Vidal Ahumada, Secretary of Economy of the State of Sonora, said that in two months Ford Mexico executives will announce the role that the Hermosillo plant will play in the revamping of the company's catalog.
