Santander Financial Group estimated that in 2019 the Mexican economy will grow 2.3% and while there are factors that affect the decline, there are also positive elements that will achieve a slightly higher performance than in the previous two years.

For the financial institution, one of the main elements that would limit the growth of the economy as a whole is the uncertainty that prevails in the oil sector.

The Spain-based financial group also estimated that the U.S. economy "will return to expansion rates closer to its potential," once the positive effects of the fiscal reform implemented in 2018 pass.

It is expected that after reaching a growth of about 3.0% in 2018, the U.S. economy will grow around 2.5%, it said in an analysis.
