The 2018 Celebration of the Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos), which will take place on October in Mexico City, expects to receive more than 2 million visits and an economic flow of around US$21 million.

The Secretary of Tourism (Sectur), Enrique de la Madrid, said that this is an event with historical roots and modernity, which gives a projection and international promotion to Mexico, along with its cultural and tourist wealth.

He informed that, last year, for this parade, Sectur invested through the Consejo de Promoción Turística de México (CPTM) US$447.3 million.

Added to this is the investment of four states that will participate for the first time in the tour with their floats: Aguascalientes, Michoacan, Oaxaca and San Luis Potosi.
