Oxxo plans to launch home shopping app

Oxxo plans to become even more involved in e-commerce with the development of its own mobile home delivery application.

Asensio Carrión, Oxxo's director of financial and electronic services, said that the Mexican convenience store chain is preparing to become a leader in e-commerce in the country by adding a new home delivery service.

In addition to offering home delivery and ordering, the company is considering a virtual wallet that could allow consumers to control and manage their online purchases with the Oxxo service.

Oxxo currently reaches the majority of the Mexican population because cash continues to be the primary means of payment in the country.
