After 19 months into production, the Toluca Assembly Plant of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles manufactured the 400,000 Jeep Compass, the Italian-American automaker announced. The unit with which this milestone was reached was a Jazz blue Longitude version configured for the North American market.

The Compass is the first vehicle of the Jeep brand that is assembled in the country. “It is an honor for me to be part of a team as committed as the one who works in this plant, this vehicle has been one of the drivers of the Jeep brand and is proudly made in Mexico,” commented Jorge Luis Lares, FCA Mexico Vice President of Manufacturing.

“Once again, the great workmanship of our country and the confidence that FCA has in us is demonstrated by choosing us as one of the four countries to manufacture this vehicle,” he added.

The SUV is built in four countries: Brazil, China, India and Mexico, but it is the production of the Toluca plant that reaches more markets thanks to the trade deals of Mexico, since it is exported to 46 countries in 4 continents: Asia, Europe, America and Africa.

According to FCA, the Toluca facility is one of the most flexible of the company, since it manufactures the Jeep Compass, the Dodge Journey and the Fiat 500 on the same production line.
