Japanese bearing manufacturer NSK recently opened a new distribution center in Silao, Guanajuato, in which it will consolidate the logistics operations it had in Mexico City.

The property, located in the Guanajuato Puerto Interior (GPI) industrial estate, occupies an area of 4,600 square meters (around 49,500 sq.-ft) where 11,000 storage slots for finished products were placed. The facility started operations with a staff of 47 workers, but it will certainly increase in the near future, company officials said.

In 2013, NSK opened a bearings manufacturing plant in the same area, while its subsidiary NSK Warner formally started producing clutch parts at its own plant earlier this year, although it had already been present in Guanajuato since 2016.

According to Marco Antonio Rodríguez, president of NSK México, both plants are currently in the process of expansion. “We are starting a new stage, this is just the beginning, we are going to grow much more,” said the official during the ceremony, although he did not provide concrete figures.
