Footwear industry interested in investing in Oaxaca

Governor Alejandro Murat met with directors of the Flexi and Taguesi footwear industries, who expressed their interest in investing in Oaxaca for the opening of a footwear factory that will require an investment of US$969,488 million and will generate 1000 direct jobs.

Guzmán Cobián, made a tour with Flexi and Taguesi investors through the Industrial Park and Maquilador PIMO 2000, located in this municipality of the Central Valleys, where they visited the denim maquiladora that operates there and manufactures high quality garments for the brand Zara, Pepe Jeans, Dolce & Gabanna, among others.

In a working table with the directors, the Ministry of Economy made available to the businessmen the facilities of labor linkage and recruitment through the National Employment Service, the logistical accompaniment in the properties and services through Fidelo and training through Icapet.

Footwear is the sixth most important sector in exports, with annual sales of around US$250 million, its production is exported to 45 countries, including the United States, Canada, Guatemala, Chile, Colombia and Panama.
