Avery Dennison, a California-based global producer of label and packaging materials, recently inaugurated an expansion at its Queretaro plant where an acrylic laminator was installed.Â
Such feature expands the company’s product offering in Mexico and is considered its “biggest investment in Mexico over the past 20 years,” company officials said at the opening ceremony, although no concrete figures were revealed.
“Thanks to this investment, we are able to develop the entire Avery Dennison Acrylic material portfolio locally. Whether for paper solutions, rigid or semi-conformable films, as well as products with paper or PET backing. The possibilities are many and will be subject to the needs and projects of our clients and strategic partners,” said Jorge Orejuela, the company’s regional manager for South America.
The production line, which has been operational since late 2018, will allow Avery Dennison to offer its customers in Mexico, Central America and the Andean region better delivery times and greater solutions and product availability.
“With this new investment we will be able to produce the entire line of acrylic emulsion solutions. This is very beneficial for us and the market since we will be able to offer specific configurations for a large number of challenges,” Orejuela added.
The company has been conducting an ambitious investment plan in the country in recent years, including the installation of a new slitter at its facility in Tlalnepantla in 2016, the inauguration of a distribution center in Guadalajara in 2017.Â
Later this year, additional to the new acrylic coater, the company will open a new distribution center in Monterrey, allowing it to provide improved service in northern Mexico.
