MEXICO – The Chamber of Commerce and Technology of Mexico-China organized a meeting of bilateral commercial actors between both countries to strengthen their relationship.

Amapola Grijalva, president of the chamber, said that “in 10 years of the chamber’s life, it has managed to unite a community of experts to offer services and resolve conflicts and necessities, this achieving a more competitive commercial exchange.”

She stressed that Mexico is the second most important economy in Latin America, the 12th importer worldwide, the fifth consumer of smartphones, besides having an excellent geographical location.

At the reunion, attendees resolved their doubts about customs procedures in Mexico and learned more about the benefits of having a commercial exchange between Mexico and China.

“Mexico has maritime connectivity with China through major shipping companies such as Maersk, Hapag Lloyd, Cosco, and One, among others; in addition to having air connectivity,” explained Yudi Shu, managing director of Water Logistics.

On this, Carlos Gonzalez, general manager of Apex Logistics Mexico, said they have services that connect China with Mexico through the United States. In aerial matters, Apex reporte a handling of 1,400 tons of load––50% more than reported in 2017, according to the manager.

He stands out as well that in the first 11 months of 2018, the commercial exchange between both countries was of US$83.67 billion––3% more than the US$80.86 billion of the same period of 2017, according to the Ministry of Economy.
