Japanese manufacturer Sango, through its U.S.-based subsidiary Arvin Sango, recently broke ground at the municipality of Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato to build a production facility.

The company plans to allocate an initial investment of US$17 million at the 12,000-sq.-mt. plant. An estimated 123 job positions for highly-qualified individuals will be opened in order to start operations.

The ceremony was attended by Dan Baughman, Arvin Sango president, and Regional Strategies Manager Kiyotaka Tatsumi, as well as local authorities.

The site will focus in the manufacturing of exhaust systems for Toyota and other customers. The plant was initially slated to supply manifolds and mufflers for the Corolla, but now it will work on the Tacoma program instead, as plans for the Toyota assembly plant in Guanajuato were changed.

This will be Sango’s first manufacturing facility in Mexico. The company operates four plants and a technical center in the U.S.

Sango Co., Ltd. manufactures automotive components such as mufflers and exhaust pipes. The company's products include manifold exhausts, mufflers exhaust systems, catalytic converters, emission control products, heat recovery, and utilization products.
