QUERETARO — Enrique Beltranena, CEO of Volaris, announced the reinstatement of flights from Querétaro to Chicago, Guadalajara, Chihuahua and Puerto Vallarta, after reaching an agreement with Aeropuerto Intercontinental de Queretaro (AIQ).
The announcement came days after the CEO expressed on Twitter his decision to cancel those four new routes from the AIQ due to the 16% increase in costs, which would make the operations unviable from a financial point of view.
To reverse this situation, Jesús Arredondo Velázquez, general director of the AIQ, undertook to reduce its operating costs during March, in order to generate optimal conditions for the attraction of new routes that connect to the aerodrome.
"The Intercontinental Airport of Querétaro S.A. de C.V., undertakes to carry out before the end of the current month, before its Board of Directors, the modification to the applicable rates for airport services ", expressed Arredondo Velázquez in a letter.
The document states that the tariffs to be modified correspond to the landing services, parking on the embarkation and disembarkation platform, parking on the overnight platform and the service to passengers and their hand luggage (ERPE), applying only the National Price Index Consumer, which adjusts prices according to market variations.
