There’s a deadline for the Santa Lucia construction works

MEXICO The federal government plans to complete the construction of the “General Felipe Ángeles” International Airport at the current Military Air Base in Santa Lucia on October 17th, 2021. However, the Santa Lucia airport would enter into commercial operation until March 21st, 2022 and as of October 17th, 2020, the Sedena would carry out operation equipment tests. According to the execution program, the first works will be completed on October 17th, 2020. Subsequently, on December 31st, 2020, Sedena will conclude the construction of the road and the perimeter fence for the new airport. On January 16th, 2021, the Military Facilities Complex of the 37th Military Zone would be ready. A month later, on February 16th, Sedena would conclude parking for the new airport, as well as Fronts 1 and 2 of the Military Air Base and several complementary organisms of the Mexican Air Force. On March 13rd and 16th, 2021, the electrical network and the hydraulic, sanitary and treatment plants, respectively, would be completed. On April 16th, the Control Tower, the firefighting service and the administrative buildings for the new airport would be ready.
