Phillips Industries’ Electrical Harness Division (EHD) is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its expansion to Mexico in order to produce electrical harnesses for the global trailer market.

The manufacturing plant located in the municipality of Arteaga, Coahuila has experienced 600% growth since Phillips made the decision to expand production of electrical harnesses into Mexico in 2008. The EHD facility footprint has increased from 90,480 square feet to its current size of 140,000 square feet.

Because of the quality of the products manufactured at the EHD facility, Phillips electrical harnesses are standard on over 50% of trailers on the road in North America. In addition to marking a decade of manufacturing Phillips electrical harnesses, EHD also achieved the IATF-16949 quality certification in 2018.

According to company officials, EHD has the lowest standard lead time in the industry and can deliver custom harnesses in just two to three weeks.

“The successes we have had at EHD rests entirely on people who work here,” commented Filberto Coello, director of Mexican operations for Phillips Industries. “Our employees are truly invested in this business; committed to the company and to our customers. They are responsible for the quality and greater than 98% on-time delivery for our products. Congratulations to everyone on reaching our 10-year anniversary as a significant trailer industry supplier.”

It’s also worth noting that the plant has been recognized by the state of Coahuila as one of the best companies to work for in the region.
