INGETEK inaugurates new plant in Juárez
JUAREZ, CHIH - INGETEK de Acero inaugurated its new manufacturing plant in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, which is expected to generate close to 300 direct and indirect jobs for the border region.
The new plant joins the other five existing plants in the country, located in Baja California, Coahuila, Estado de México, Quintana Roo and Nuevo León.
Juarez Mayor, Cruz Perez Cuellar, said that the arrival of this plant in the region will bring technological innovation, since it is the application of technified engineering to enable reinforcing steels used in the construction industry.
“The plant is part of a family of companies with more than 20 years of experience in the steel industry, so it is gratifying for this city to receive investment in these areas, because it allows the name of Juarez to be consolidated in industries other than the maquiladora sector manufacturing, to give way to diversified activities in the construction industry,” said the mayor.
Raul Manuel Gutierrez Muguerza, Chairman of the Board of Grupo de Acero, commented that with this plant, the company is moving towards a prosperous future. The investment for the arrival of the company was US$6.4 million.
The businessman indicated that this plant strengthens the efforts to revolutionize the construction sector in Mexico and strengthens the capacity to export to the United States.
“We will have an installed capacity of 4,000 tons per month of qualified steel, which guarantees the use of advanced technology and innovation at the core of the processes to offer integral solutions and products with the highest quality standards,” said Gutiérrez Muguerza.

Luis Rafael Méndez Jaled, national president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry, who indicated that this new plant is a clear testimony of the industrial strength of the country and the attractive investment opportunities offered by Ciudad Juárez and the state of Chihuahua.
Also present at the event were Rodolfo Santiago Larrea Vega, general director of subsidiaries of Grupo de Acero; Andrés Plaza Romero, general director of INGETEK Grupo de Acero; Saúl Ramírez Santiago, commander of the Ninth Motorized Cavalry Regiment; Héctor Enrique Escalante Ochoa, general director of Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua; and Fernando Suárez Cerón, president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry in Ciudad Juárez.
