Artimpianti Group, an Italian designer and manufacturer of aluminum gravity die casting machines and peripheral processes, announced it will open its second manufacturing plant in Mexico. This will be a partnership with IDRA Group, a manufacturer of die casting machines also based in Italy, to supply solutions for the market of structural aluminum parts.

The facility, located at the Politek industrial park in Garcia, Nuevo Leon, comprises of 1,500 square meters of factory floor and more than 400 square meters for office.

A cutting ribbon ceremony is scheduled on June 28, accompanied by technical presentations and demonstrations of machinery.

“We believe that, together, we can better grow in Mexico. Artimpianti has great experience in gravity, low pressure and sand technology while IDRA is strong in high pressure die casting technology. Together we can cover the whole aluminum and magnesium foundry business,” said in a statement Riccardo Ferrario, General Manager of IDRA Group.

The new site will be Artimpianti’s third business unit in Mexico. Twenty years ago, the company opened also in Garcia, Nuevo Leon, its subsidiaries Artmex and Artcubing.

Artmex specializes in both the manufacture of new systems and in the reconditioning of old systems ranging from manual to fully automatic casting.

The in-house technical staff does 3D designs to provide simulations of cycle or process times using state-of the-art applications such as Robostudio and DELMIA.

They also design software and hardware as well as mechanical and fluidic systems, providing turnkey systems that are both CE- and UL-certified.

The facility relies on a large plasma cutting station combined with proprietary tool machines ensure quick deliveries with a repair and maintenance service ranking as one of best-performing in the Mexican market.

Artcubing performs mechanical machining on large aluminum castings including cubing, perforating, and leveling with centesimal precision using two CNC 4-Heller axis machines equipped with a Ranishaw measuring device and a tool magazine with 16,000 revolutions per minute tools.
