JAC introduces its plug-in hybrids: the JAC 6 and Traveler

JAC has been expanding its electric vehicle lineup in Mexico for several years now with models such as the E10X, E30X, and E10X Cargo.

Meanwhile, Giant Motors Latinoamerica took a step forward in this technology by introducing JAC’s passenger vehicles with plug-in hybrid powertrains to the Mexican market. A year ago, the company added the JAC 6 PHEV SUV and the Traveler PHEV minivan to its portfolio.

The plug-in hybrid technology used in these models is referred to by the brand as “Dual e-Drive” due to its performance capabilities, based on the dynamic interaction between the electric motors and the internal combustion engines that power both models.

Dual e-Drive operates in a very unique way: depending on certain conditions, the vehicles prioritize the use of the electric motors or, failing that, the combined operation of the electric and combustion engines.

In terms of connectivity, both models are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and feature high-quality audio systems that deliver a very satisfying experience for passengers, particularly in the Traveler with its 12-speaker system—especially enjoyable on long trips, for which these vehicles are ideally suited.

In terms of safety, both the JAC 6 PHEV and the Traveler PHEV minivan feature a comprehensive suite of ADAS, which undoubtedly contribute significantly to preventing accidents, even those caused by driver distraction.
