Jalisco Attracted US$256 Million in New Investments

With US$256 million, Jalisco has just seen a 25% increase in the category of new investments as a share of the total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) it attracted in the first half of this year.

According to the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO), from January to June of this year, the state attracted 1.4 billion dollars in FDI, of which US$256 million corresponded to new investments; as a result, Jalisco bucked the national trend, in which the inflow of new capital decreased by 13.4%.

“Jalisco stands in contrast to the nationwide decline; we saw growth in our new investments. Indeed, we have been working to help companies already established here grow, while also creating the conditions for them to reinvest their profits and continue to find Jalisco a reliable home for their ongoing development,” said SEDECO Director Cindy Blanco Ochoa.

It is worth noting that Jalisco has become the fourth-largest state nationwide in terms of attracting new capital to the country. Furthermore, the total amount of investment attracted during the January–June 2026 period exceeded the US$1.2 billion that the state attracted in all of 2025.

According to the state official, in addition to attracting new capital, Jalisco also bolstered the confidence of companies already operating in the state to continue growing and expanding their projects.
