Jalisco receives US$400 million in tequila investment

English corporation Diageo, owner of the Don Julio tequila brand, announced the next stage of its Mexico expansion, which totals a US$400 million investment and the creation of 1,000 new jobs in Jalisco, over the next five years. With this project, Diageo will double its bottling capacity in Mexico, to over five million cases per year, to start building a multi-brand export platform. Besides, the company will have a sustainable supply chain, integrating a plant for water treatment and to generate biogas and the re-utilization of the agave pulp.
