Kenworth increased its truck production up to 60 vehicles per hour in the plant located in Mexicali, Baja California, to satisfy the Mexican, Center and South American markets. The Firm's Director, Renato Villalpando, explained that the goal to manufacture more than four trucks per hour, was set due to the sales volume of these units, which is expected to surpass the 26,000 units by the end of 2017. Kenworth has a 35.7% market participation in the Mexican truck and heavy truck sector with over 7,000 Class 8 units retailed in 2017. Villalpando added that the Kenworth manufacturing complex has been operating for 60 years, and it is now equipped with automated processes and robots for a more precise operation.
