KIA Mexico receives J.D. Power Quality Award

Kia Mexico’s plant, located in Nuevo Leon, was honored with J.D. Power’s 2026 Gold Quality Award, standing out as the facility with the highest initial quality in North and South America in the 2026 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). This recognition aligns with the performance of the Kia K4—a model produced at this facility—which took first place in the compact car segment in the United States.
In addition to leading its category, the Kia K4 was the second-highest-rated vehicle in the industry for initial quality in the J.D. Power study. Plant quality awards recognize the production of vehicles with the fewest defects during the first years of ownership, excluding design-related issues.
The company noted that the plant has built a track record focused on quality since it began operations a decade ago. During that time, it has earned 13 first-place awards in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality study in the United States, including six consecutive first-place finishes by the Kia Forte between 2019 and 2024 in the compact car segment.
