The Korean automaker KIA presented its new Forte 2019 sedan, which is manufactured in the plant located in the municipality of Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon and will be available at Mexican auto dealerships starting August 9.

The Forte model is the third best seller under the KIA brand and the first model to be produced at the company's Mexican facility, said Horacio Chávez, general director of Kia Mexico, during the presentation of the unit in Cancun.

"Forte represents 50% of the total production in the plant. This model, made in Mexico, ranks first in quality in its segment in the United States," added the executive. By the end of 2018, the total production at the Nuevo Leon plant will be 314,000 units: 153,000 Forte cars (83,300 units from the next-gen version and 69,700 vehicles of the outgoing variant); 96,000 KIA Rio and 65,000 Hyundai Accent.

The new Forte, with its 147 horsepower, has a longer hood, redesigned headlights with full LED technology, aerodynamic entrances in front fascia with integrated directional, fog lamps with projection lens and lower grille with greater opening.

At the back it has transverse anti-reflective line, stylized brake lights with full LED design, new directional and reverse light arrangement in rear fascia, sports exhaust terminal with chrome finish and air diffuser.

"This model has intelligent trunk, cross traffic alert and blind spot detection. It is available in seven different colors," added Luis Miguel Garcia, product manager of KIA, during the event.

The car will be available in four trim levels: LMT, LX TM, EX IVT and EX Premium IVT.
