A production facility in Puebla owned by Germany-based automotive locking systems manufacturer Kiekert AG has been awarded the National Quality Award 2017 by the Mexican government.

The coveted award recognizes companies for their innovative strength, productivity and competitiveness.

Roberto Pereira, General Manager Kiekert Mexico, and his team received the award from Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Kiekert’s technology in automotive locking systems has convinced the jury in eight areas, including customer orientation, the efficiency of lean processes and knowledge management.

"It is an honor for us, and we are very pleased to receive this award. The Quality Award is the result of the great qualification, motivation and passion of our employees," says Roberto Pereira. "It motivates us to re-examine our performance every day in order to contribute to the progress of our customers".

Karl Krause, Chief Executive Officer at Kiekert, is delighted about the honoring. "This award is an approval for our technological expertise and the outstanding quality of our products," he said.

The "National Quality Award" has been given by the Mexican government since 1989 and honors companies, which stand out with excellent performances on the international market. In over 25 years, the "National Quality Award" has established itself as one of the most important awards for companies and institutions in Mexico.
