KUKA Robotics Invests US$1 Million in Nuevo León

To carry out integrated projects involving artificial intelligence, welding, mobile robotics, and advanced automation, KUKA Robotics has opened its first Innovation and Technology Development Center in Mexico, located in Nuevo León.

The facility, located in the Park for Research and Technological Innovation (PIIT) in Apodaca, features a laboratory and robotic cells.

This new center represents an investment of US$1 million and is expected to create 80 jobs.

It also marks KUKA’s first Center for Innovation and Technological Development in Mexico, as the company celebrates its 30th anniversary of operations in the country.

This opening ceremony was attended by state and municipal officials, executives from KUKA Mexico and KUKA North America, as well as representatives from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León.

Nuevo León's Secretary of Economy, Betsabé Rocha Nieto, presided over the inauguration, emphasizing the importance of continuing to strengthen the state's technological capabilities through projects that bring together industry, innovation, and specialized talent.

“The value of a project like this also lies in the knowledge it generates, the skills it develops, and the technology it makes available to our companies,” said Rocha Nieto.

The Innovation Center will enable the development of projects focused on new applications of artificial intelligence, welding, and mobile robotics, as well as the creation of opportunities for collaboration with stakeholders in Nuevo León’s technology and industrial ecosystem.
