Latin America may require 2,540 new passenger and cargo airplanes from this year until 2034 to serve this growing sector in the region for the long term, according to a study delivered by Airbus. The study also estimated that the demand for aircrafts in this region would include the acquisition of 1,990 single-aisle airplanes and 550 wide-cabin planes, valued at US$330 million approximately. "Such demand represents that the passenger and cargo airplanes fleet operated by airlines will double to reach the 3,000 aircrafts over the next 20 years", informed the company. According to Airbus' forecasts, the Latin American traffic will have a 4.7% annual average growth during the next 20 years, above the 4.6% global average.
