CHIHUAHUA Leoni announced that it will build a new section of 700 square meters at its Cuauhtémoc manufacturing plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, for which it will initially invest more than US$ 25 million.

This will increase the production capacity of EV charging cables and high-voltage Hivocar cables for vehicles with alternative drive. Production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2020 although the initial tests will be carried out at the end of December of this year.

"We will expand our product range; so in addition to the manufacturing of single-core cables, multi-core Adascar and Dacar data, we will be able to manufacture high voltage and load cables," said Everardo Avila, director of Leoni WCS Mexico.
