Leoni Corporation, a manufacturer of automotive harnesses, is set to start operations in Yucatan in mid- 2018, revealed Jose Alberto Conceicao, Operations Manager for the Americas region. He pointed out that, during operations, Leoni will manufacture up to 1,000 harnesses pieces per day, which will be shipped out for General Motors and Volvo vehicles, in the U.S. The plant will be located in Eastern Merida. David Mejia Aviles, HR Director, expressed that the hiring plan for 2017 is 9,000 openings, but the goal is to have 2,600 by 2018.
