Automotive research and consulting firm AutoPacific, Inc. announced the 2017 Ideal Vehicle Awards, recognizing vehicles that best meet their owner’s expectations and desires. The list includes three Mexico-made vehicles, including the Lincoln MKZ which won the Best in Class Ideal Vehicle in the Luxury Mid-Size Car segment.

The 2017 awards are based on responses from more than 54,000 owners of new model year 2016 and 2017 vehicles across all major manufacturers. Respondents were asked what changes they would make to their car or truck in 15 key categories, including ride and handling, interior storage, safety features, power and acceleration and technology.

“Even the most satisfied owner would change something about their vehicle if given the opportunity,” says George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. “AutoPacific’s IVAs identify vehicles whose owners want the least amount of change – those that are truly hitting the mark with owners.”

The Lincoln MKZ, built in Hermosillo, Sonora, outscored the Lexus ES to win the prize for the fourth year in a row.

AutoPacific also honored the Volkswagen Jetta as the top vehicle in the Compact Car category. It’s worth noticing that the Beetle and Golf swept up the second and third spots, respectively. All three vehicles are built at the VW plant located in Puebla.

A third Mexico-made model awarded by AutoPacific was the Honda Fit, built in Celaya, Guanajuato, which won the Economy Car segment for the third year in a row. It’s worth noticing that the Fit was also awarded in recent days by the experts at Kelley Blue Book (KBB) as the Best Back-to-School car of 2017.
