Manzanillo Airport has invested US$9 million for its rehabilitation

MANZANILLO - In the last three years, the Manzanillo-Costalegre international airport has received an investment of US$9 million for improvement and rehabilitation works at the air terminal, said Carlos Menéndez, Deputy Director of Operations, Planning and Services of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).

"Since 2020, an investment of US$9 million has been made, to which will be added US1.4 million that is projected to be invested during the next year to conclude the work on the Master Development Plan (PMD) 2020-2024," he stressed.

Menéndez explained that the improvement works being carried out at the air terminal include the rehabilitation of the runway and taxiways, the commercial aviation apron, roads, as well as works to comply with ICAO regulations, rehabilitation of perimeter fencing, water use and acquisition of equipment.

According to GAP's Air Traffic Report, from January to October of this year, passenger traffic at the Manzanillo-Costalegre air terminal increased by 3% compared to the same period in 2022, and during the second half of 2023, the airport offers, on average, 21 weekly outbound operations to six destinations; one domestic and five international.
