Mazda confirms the arrival of the new CX-5 in Mexico

Mazda Mexico officially announced that the new generation of its CX-5 compact SUV will arrive on the domestic market during the second half of 2026, with a projected increase of approximately 20% over the current model.

The Japanese firm unveiled the third generation of the CX-5 in Europe, marking the beginning of a new era for one of its most iconic models. The new version features aesthetic and technical upgrades, in line with the “New Generation Emotional Daily Comfort” concept, which aims to provide a more immersive and comfortable driving experience for everyday use.

“In our desire to always be transparent and continue to give our customers certainty in their purchases, Mazda de México can confirm that the new Mazda CX-5 will arrive in our country during the second half of 2026 with an approximate 20% increase over the current price,” the brand announced.

Miguel Barbeyto, president of Mazda de México, assured that the current model will remain competitive for the remainder of its life cycle.

“All our customers can feel confident about their purchase today. Know that the Mazda CX-5 has undergone the necessary changes over time to adapt to the conditions of our country, while always maintaining a competitive price,” he said.

Since its launch in 2012, the CX-5 has been a pillar of the brand globally. It was the first model to fully adopt the “KODO – Soul of Motion” design language and SKYACTIV technology, which marked a new direction for Mazda by combining dynamism with environmental efficiency. Currently, it has sold over 4.5 million units in more than 100 countries.

In its new version, the CX-5 includes significant improvements in interior comfort, sound insulation, the human-machine interface (HMI), and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Although the engines and specific versions for the Mexican market have not yet been revealed, the global redesign anticipates significant advances in design, platform, and safety.

Mazda's decision to announce the arrival of the new model and its impact on price in advance is part of a strategy to provide clarity to consumers in the face of the uncertainty that model renewals often generate.

The arrival of this new generation also aligns with the brand's efforts to reposition its offering toward a more premium segment, while maintaining its renowned value proposition based on quality, design, and efficiency. In Mexico, the CX-5 has established itself as a benchmark in the SUV segment, competing directly with models such as the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
