Mexico and Spain to boost investment

MEXICO – The governor of Queretaro, Mauricio Kuri Gonzalez, held a meeting with the Mexican ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, where they discussed the need to work together to strengthen investment promotion and unity between the two nations.

During the meeting, the diplomat established his commitment to improve the economic and cultural relationship with Spain for the benefit of Mexico. The meeting took place after Quirino Ordaz was sworn in as Mexico's ambassador to Spain on March in a plenary session of the Senate.

It is worth mentioning that Spain was the main recipient of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the state during 2021, since it contributed 24.9% of the state total, with US$204.1 million.

In recent days, the head of the Ministry of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, together with leaders of business associations and chambers, announced that his tour of Europe was successful, since the possibility of landing 12 investment projects in the state is foreseen.

These projects are industrial projects of companies based in Spain, France and Switzerland, such as Nestlé, Safran aerospace, among others.
