Mexico bets on U.S. manufacture

Almost one fourth of the accumulated Mexican investment in the U.S. corresponds to the manufacturing sector. Out of the productive investment add-up of US$16.59 billion Mexico holds in the U.S., US$3.75 billion have been injected in the transformation industry. Bimbo, Gruma, Kuo, Lala, Sigma Alimentos, Nemak, Cemex, Bachoco, Cinepolis and Metalsa are listed among the Mexican companies from the sector who have invested in the U.S. market. Such investments were made after these companies increased their exports from Mexico to the U.S. market.
