Mexico has the potential to become a cotton exporter

Mexico could be an exporter of cotton, the conditions and the capacity to produce this genetically modified fiber exist, the Alianza Protransgenicos reported.

Pedro Ortiz, vice president of the Alianza Protransgenicos, stressed that as a country we are in a great market opportunity and it is worth taking a more futuristic vision that brings development, employment and economic growth to Mexico’s countryside.

Alianza Protransgenicos believes that there is currently a considerable increase in the adoption of cotton in Mexican lands as it is, for the most part, authorized for human consumption as edible oil destined to the food industry.
