Mexico is planning to buy another lot of Mi-17 utility helicopters

“Mi-17 helicopters are widely used by security forces in Mexico: the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy and the Federal Police. Mexican authorities are planning to buy another lot of these aircraft in Russia and are currently analyzing the offer we presented them”, declared the Rosoboronexport Marketing Director, Alexandr Denisov.  There are estimations that Mexico bought 11 Mi-8 and 24 Mi-17 aircraft from Russia between 1994 and 2002, whereas the Mexican Navy received from Moscow three Mi-17V-5 in 2012.
