Mexico reaching mango export record thanks to the U.S.

Mango consumption in the U.S. increased from 1 a 2.8 pounds per person over the last decade, thus driving Mexican producers to reach record exports of 73 million cases valued at almost US$500 million in 2016. Exports are expected to escalate by 30% this summer, informed Leonardo Ortega, research director of the National Mango Board (NMB). He underscored that the consumption might increase by up to 67%, as consumption per person has been 50% up in the last months.
