Mexico recovered 148,719 formal jobs during November: IMSS

MEXICO – In November, employment continued its recovery course and added 148,719 new jobs, which represents 95% more than those registered a year ago; is the best data for the month of November for a decade, reported the monthly report of the Mexican Insurance Social Institute (IMSS).

As of November 30, 2020, 20 million 51,552 jobs have been registered with the IMSS; of these, 85.7% are permanent and 14.3% are temporary. In recent years, these percentages have remained relatively constant.

The monthly increase, equivalent to a monthly rate of 0.7%, with the above, the decrease in employment so far this year -January November- is 369,890 positions.

In the last twelve months there was a decrease of 752,100 positions, equivalent to an annual rate of -3.6%. The sectors with annual growth in jobs are agriculture with 1.8%; electricity (0.7%); social and community services (0.2%); and transport and communications (0.1%); by state, Baja California, Tabasco and Chihuahua continue with a positive annual variation.
