The National Association of Producers of Buses, Trucks and Tractor Trucks (ANPACT for its acronym in Spanish), announced that the production of heavy vehicles last January was 9,838 units, which compared to 9,407 vehicles in January 2017, represented an increase of 4.6%.

Of this production, 410 units correspond to passage, which means a fall of 36.7% in that category. On the other hand, during the month of January, the export of heavy vehicles reached a total of 8,179 units, which compared to 7,083 vehicles in the same month of 2017, represented a growth of 15.5%.

According to Miguel Elizalde, executive president of ANPACT, 2018 will be a year with great challenges for the industry, both for the local market and for foreign trade.

Therefore, in order to face a possible unfavorable international scenario, the official called for a decisive boost to the domestic market, through green incentives, attractive financing schemes and an updated regulatory framework with transparent and efficient oversight.
