According to the director general of the Strategic Consultative Council of International Negotiations, Moisés Kalach, Mexico has remained firm in its position regarding the non-negotiable points of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Kalach affirms that the business sector is ready for the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo, to join the renegotiations of the NAFTA in Washington. He also added that the NAFTA points that affect the automotive sector cannot be compromised.

Furthermore, it´s important to note that the transition team of the elected president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, coincides with Guajardo's position to modernize NAFTA in favor of Mexico, Canada and the United States.
