The sweets and confectionery industry has a value in Jalisco that amounts to US$87.9 billion, said Jesus Luevano Ibarra, president of the Seccion de Confiteria de la Camara de la Industria Alimenticia de Jalisco (CIAJ).
Luevano Ibarra explained that Jalisco is the most important entity in the production of sweets and confectionery nationwide. In addition, the industry is made up of more than 400 economic units that generate more than 15,000 jobs.
"The growth outlook is estimated at 15% more despite the estimated inflation of 6.9%, but despite lower growth compared to last year, the confectionery industry has managed to motivate growth through investment," Luévano concluded.
