Mexico bids for Amazon’s second regional headquarters

Amazon.com Inc. has received 238 propositions from cities and regions all over North America, to host its second central headquarters. Amazon said that 54 States, provinces, districts and territories in the US, Canada and Mexico were represented among the offers. The number of candidates highlights the interest in the contest announced last month by this firm based out of Seattle. This major online retailer said that over US$5 billion will be invested in order to create up to 50,000 jobs for “Amazon HQ2”. Some of these candidates have indicated that they might offer Amazon thousands of millions worth in tax exemptions, were they elected for the project.
