Mexico will start importing cannabis for medicinal and recreational use

Mexican authorities have reported that the country will import cannabis for medicinal and recreational use under the strategy promoted by the new president of the country, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

Within 15 days, a Canadian company will begin importing products with cannabis to Mexico and then give way to the insertion of food and cosmetics based on marijuana, according to reports from different media.

“Mexico is ready to become the world’s largest market for medicinal and recreational marijuana,” said Canopy Latin America director Antonio Droghetti.

On the other hand, Asociación de la Industria de cannabis en México will be created with the purpose of formalizing all commercial activities and production of various articles with cannabis in Mexican.
