Microsoft to invest US$1 billion in Mexico

MEXICO — President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that Microsoft will invest US$1 billion in the project called Innovar por México, which promotes technological and sustainable development as well as environmental preservation

The project objective is to extend the access of Mexicans and their investors to digital technology, in addition to making government organizations such as hospitals or schools, improve their productivity.

For his part, César Cernuda Rego, president of Microsoft Latin America, explained that Innovar por México includes the construction of a biosafety center, 15 training programs, and with the support of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and universities, the development of classrooms will be promoted virtual.
