MONTERREY – The Japanese company Mitsubishi Electric signed a collaboration agreement with Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in order to promote the training of students in Industry 4.0.

Mitsubishi Electric donated equipment to the ITESM in order to build didactic automation cells, where the students of the campus in Monterrey will be able to use them for their development and training.

"It's a US$208,548 equipment donation and involves plc's, human-machine interfaces, servomotors and inverters," stated Victor Fuentes, senior marketing and sales manager for Mexico and Latin America at Mitsubishi Electric.

With this agreement, Mitsubishi Electric and ITESM could generate as well other collaborative programs in the future and promote more student training.

On the other hand, Armando Román Flores, director of the department of mechatronics and electricity of the school of engineering and science of ITESM, pointed out that the university is going through a process of educational innovation to adapt itself to new market trends, as is the case of Industry 4.0.
