Monterrey-based global IT services provider Softtek announced it is moving the headquarters of its U.S. and Canadian operations to Dallas from Atlanta.

“The tech services market is being transformed by new technology and changing business requirements,” said Marcos Jimenez, CEO of Softtek U.S. and Canada.

“An expanded presence in the Dallas region enhances collaboration with customers as well as access to talent in the area. As a Mexico-based corporation, moreover, deepening economic ties with the State of Texas strengthens our relationship with a critical trading partner,” Jimenez added.

Approximately 150 staff will work out of the new offices, which are located in the Addison area. Softtek plans to work with local colleges and universities to hire an additional 50 employees in the coming year, focusing on technical skills needed to expand the firm’s innovation capabilities. Softtek provides services and solutions to several corporate clients headquartered in the Dallas metro area.

The company declined to comment on the investment required for its new facility.

“Softtek has established itself as a valued business partner,” said Randy Sloan, CIO of Southwest Airlines. “An expanded presence in the region will enhance our ability to collaborate and drive ongoing operational improvement and innovation.”

A positive business climate, attractive lifestyle and access to talent were key factors in the decision to relocate.

“Softtek is a very innovative high-tech company with a variety of applications which are useful to a lot of industries and municipal government organizations,” said Joe Chow, Mayor of Addison. “On behalf of Addison, we welcome Softtek to its new US and Canada headquarters.”

Founded in 1982, Softtek is a global company helping organizations bridge the digital gap. With presence in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, Softtek provides Global 2000 organizations with technology solutions that create value through technology.
