New Port of Veracruz investment reaches US$613 million

The construction of the new Port of Veracruz will reach investment worth US$613 million, said Guillermo Ruiz de Teresa, General Coordinator of Ports and Merchant Navy, who supervised the advance of the Western breakwater and the basic infrastructure for terminals. “The new Port of Veracruz will be of great relevance for the development of the people of Veracruz, but definitely, for all of the Mexican people, as it will become the icon port of the national port system in Mexico”, asserted the officer from the Ministry of Communications and Transport (SCT), who confirmed that the first docking in this port will be next June 2018 and this will be “one of the largest ports in Latin America and the largest in Mexico”, increasing four times its current capacity.
